  • Paving the main arteries was ongoing when we arrived.
  • The plaza also looks as if it had just been redone: new sidewalks, plantings. the plaza and for one block around the plaza the city was paved with enlozetada (the interlocking cement blocks on the street).
  • Taxis were well 4WD Toyota jeeps or motorcycles.
